Q. If I do become a donor, do I meet the person that I am donating to?

A. After one year, the patient and the donor will be give the opportunity to get in contact with each other.

Q. If I do match a patient 100%, and become a donor, is it guaranteed to cure the patient?

 A. No, unfortunately it is not 100%.  In my opinion, we will never know the real numbers, because so many people die from other causes after the actual transplant.

Q. If I become a donor, do I have to pay for the medical bills?

A. I didn't have to pay for anything, when I donated bone marrow to save my sister's life. Donors don't have to pay for anything, and will be reimbursed for any traveling expenses. The patient's insurance, or another third party, pays all costs.
